Can you stay for these days?

Isn't flying a mystery?
I flew to Albuquerque this weekend.

There were approximately 11 people on my flight to Albuquerque...so, I had the whole row to myself. I stretched out and made the most of it.

The landscape was filled with these round parcels of land - like a thousand stop watches.

THIN LIZZY CHANNEL!

As a quick aside, I saw a naked guy adjusting his curtains (NOT A EUPHEMISM) from this very vantage point next to the pool.

Momma made me be the man...but I'm sure it's beause the man was playing the ukulele.

I had the opportunity to explore Albuquerque on the very day of the Gay Pride Parade.

My host, Tommy, parked us in a restaurant called Nob Hill - right across the street from Disco's.

We ordered sweet and savory baklava with orange blossom hummus and some provolone cheese sticks encrusted in pistachios with a wicked blackberry dipping sauce.

The NM Gay Red Hat Society had the best motto, "We're gay, we don't have to be old".

What's a Pride Parade without a unicorn float?

AMEN, SISTER!

Later, we headed over to Olde Town and did some shopping. Someone please tell me why I didn't buy this little gem?!

New Mexico is beautiful. I've decided this. I'm a convert.

San Felipe de Neri Church is lovely...

I always feel like such a heathen in churches...

But there was a historic sort of accepting vibe in this piece.

Ambivalent Albuquerque graffiti.

And most importantly, I got to hang with my Momma. I was reminded on a daily basis of how very special and extraordinary she is.

WTF, FTW

We're all just trying to make our way.

Trying to make this journey awesome, meaningful, compelling...

Trying to get a little gorgeous amongst all the prickly.

Spreading out, creeping around...

We really should, more often, tell each other how much we love the crooked smiles, the freckles, the loud cackles.

Sure, this blog suddenly got super syrupy, but I've been thinking a lot about you people out there. And, well, I found my spirit totem. Crazy, it's been in my new neighb this whole time.

Another thing to consider, real quick like...Spell Check.
If Blogger won't let you click on it...it says:

All Binge, No Purge

I had an Arvada adventure!

Everything glows in Arvada. I don't know if you knew this...
You do now!

We sat in the dark, talked about music, and laughed so much!

This was my host, M. Yes, he is drinking two beers at the same time. He's mos def my kind of people!

We went on a walk after a fine BBQ burger, some pasta salad, and a half a bottle of delish Denver whiskey!

I told you everything glows in Arvada.

We did some swinging...

I consider myself a "serious" swinger.

Alright...maybe not THAT serious, but check out those gams, my friends!

The Stardust! DREAM BAR!

Walking after midnight...

What are we doing?

Having a blast!

See you in the streets...

All in the Golden Afternoon

Mic and I went to Echters for foliage browsing and to make a few purchases. Her for her yard, me for a meager window box.

They have a really rippin' selection of succulents and cacti!

Orchids always amaze me. Delicate, tempramental, austere...

"You can learn a lot of things from the flowers, for especially in the month of June. There's a wealth of happiness and romance, oh...in the golden afternoon!"

This phallic husk attacked me.

Some wise guy got the idea to make a giant foliage beast. I would have tried to ride it, had there not been so many shoppers around.

We made our way to the exit, but then we saw this:

From what I can surmise, it's a spray called "Poo-Pourri" and apparently it's supposed to erase the smell of poo from your bathroom - because we know only hobos and indigent jerks take poos. Why this was at a nursery, I don't know, but I wish they would have put this to good use in the fertilizer section!

Hammer On

Linda K. aka Momma celebrated her birthday with me this weekend!

Purse Party!

When we weren't shopping and gabbing and laughing - she was reading Persepolis and examing my knitting pursuits. That's what Moms do.

Later, we went to dinner with the babies! I set Momma next to Micaela - they're trouble!

We hit the Blue Bonnet for green chili, margaritas, and lots of laughs! Meg and Chris came along too! They're getting married in August!

Maura sat next to me - more margaritas were consumed!

Dearheart and official Denverite - Spencer! Darling Meg too!

Maura captured the sunset for me!

HAMS!

Still life with Spice Cake.

Later Mama Kel met us at The Lancer for beers!

Finally, I put Momma to bed - and I couldn't help but post this because I gave her Current 93 jammies!

Happy Birthday Momma, I love your face forev!
