Let's Be Friends

So, the sweet, gorgeous people over at Talk Thirty to Me did me the distinct honor of posting a little article I did on female friendships.

And by the sweet, gorgeous people, I mean LeVar and Sara!
They both maintain blogs, respectively, that are a joy to read...giving you insight into the their worlds and how truly brilliant and special they are!

Check out Straighten My Tie and Meanest Look and support them and their efforts!
DO IT BECAUSE I SAID SO.

Do it because knowing that there are smart and sincere people working as hard as you are to eek out as happy a life as possible in this world is a comfort and pleasure!

AND READ MY ARTICLE! I'm cute and smart, for heaven's sake!

BOY/GIRL REVOLUTIONARIES YOU AND ME

Just some musings, thoughts, sweet faces...

Does this mural remind you of anything?
Am I the only perv?

Oh, hey...look! It's my new BFF, Jacob Reed McDonald!
Look at those sweet little features!
What a handsome babe, right?!

My super co-worker A-Dawg is a Papa!
And he looks good doing it, right?

OMG...my other BFF, AJA!

Any chance I get to hang heavy...I take it!

She's a laugh and a half!

She totally took this picture.

Sometimes I see things like this...and I don't want to forget...how much I hate birds.
Just jokes, it's sad.

Even this tattooed baby thinks so.

Here I am eating an egg salad sandwich and showing off my first bruise from my new skateboard.

Basically, I got too big in my britches...felt too confident and did something I shouldn't have.
I got a couple of ugly scabs on my elbows too!

I'm being careful, I promise, but I'm fairly certain there's more where this came from!
Is it wrong how much I love this bruise. I'm in love with it.
I admire it far more often than I should probably admit.

That's part of the drill with skateboarding though - gotta take the rough with the smooch!

My boss. Sleeping on the floor of his office.
How awesome is that?
We ate a giant pizza and it must have put the hurt on him because he put his feet up and he was out like a light.

I feel like I've been a little MIA...and I guess I have.
Have been super sick for the past two weeks and am just now finding my bearings, getting into the swing of things, seeing things fresh.
But what about you out there?!
What are you doing?!

Tell me about it in the comments...tell me a story, tell me about an adventure, tell me about a meal you ate that made you want to hump it.
I'm into all of those things...I'm into you.

The Saddest Thing In The World

I've worked in the same building for almost 3 years.
It's weird when I think back - the starting, the beginning, the newness.

There is a gym on the penthouse floor of the building and I started using it because it was free and because it had pretty decent equipment.
I love running on a treadmill and the view is great so far up in the sky - the mountains look incredible and I often try to figure out where my apartment is from my vantage point.

Something weird about me...I am obsessed by certain numbers. Mostly 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 23, and 75 - but in a bigger sense, I like multiples of 5 a lot.

So, when I select numbered things, I prefer those numbers or multiples of 5.

That means when I started going to the gym...I tried to find a locker with a number that met my neurotic, obsessive compulsive number weirdness.
And every time, I was drawn to #85.

Sadly, someone was always in #85.

And someone has been...for over two years...
Maybe longer.

A nice pair of slacks, a brown shirt, a pretty peach colored scarf, some brown socks, and sensible brown leather shoes.

And every time I'm in the gym, I gravitate towards #85.
And every time, I realize that the lady that chose #85 never removed her things.

Never ever.
I want to know what happened. I doubt it's anything dramatic. I'm sure my imagination is far more elaborate than the reality...
But I like wondering. I like pondering who she was, why she left her things, if she wonders where they are - like, while vacuuming or something, she remembers a pretty peach scarf that she used to have and tries to remember where she left it.

I Don't Want To Be Friends

My dear friend Carrie, dream hostess and Binghamton, NY resident, bought me this for Christmas.
It fits perfectly in my life.

While gazing out a window at work I saw something wonderful...

Someone had written "BEN" in the snow.
Isn't that sort of an amazing gesture?

All the time, I drive by picture worthy things...and because I'm in a hurry, I want to get somewhere, I don't want to pause or maneuver in traffic - I let those things go.

I stopped this time.

I should do it more often.
New Years Resolution, maybe...?

Because there's stuff worth seeing and who knows how long it will be there.

Also, eat at Angelo's.
It's in my neighb and has the best meatballs on the planet.
On second thought, if you go there, call me...I'll meet you and the wine is on me!

Favorites Wednesday!

See this guy right here?
This guy is my total OG internet friend Josh.
Honestly, I couldn't tell you how long I've known him, but it could be like 8 years!
And want to know something even weirder? We've never met in person!
But we've hung heavy and always been pals and I adore him, long distance, forev!

What I want to get at is that Josh, or Josh Bomb as I've always called him, is pretty much the funniest dude on the planet and he's cracked me up a lot in the past 8 or so years!

In an exciting turn of events, Josh is keeping a rad blog that he updates on a pretty consistent basis that reflects Josh's rad favorite cool guy status in my book and I think you might like it too!

When I asked Josh if I could feature him on Favorites Wednesday, he said, "Of course, dear! xx"!

So, here he is...Josh Bomb's HILARIOUS blog:

Malicious Mischief!

BOOKMARK IT AND STAY IN THE LOOP, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!

Again, if you have a favorite website or blog that you'd like to see featured here...CLUE ME IN, SHEESH!

All Plans Are Golden In Your Hands

I could say that I regretted Spencer's and my little trip down to Colorado Springs.
I'd never been there and felt a little out of sorts.
You know, the kind of out of sorts where you drink to right yourself and end up wronging yourself.

Anyway, it doesn't matter because I laughed my ass off.
And the drive home, at 8 in the morning, was crispy with a white rain/snow mix...I shoved a Sonic breakfast sandwich in my face...and arrived home in enough time to get my act together for Craftin' Out.

Thanks, Baby S!

With My Idle Hands There’s Nothing I Can Do, But Be The Devil’s Plaything, Baby

While it was hailing like crazy and luxury car owners were taking refuge under drive thru windows at banks around the city...

I was doing this...
Having sewing notions around me is sort of thrilling. I love the word "notions".

And this was the result!
A CREATURE!

A strange stuffed creature from this amazing book called Stray Sock Sewing
There's more to come...they're too cute not to crank out!

Also, if you get a chance, look into this because it's one of my lingering obsessions.
SISTER WHO -SACRED CLOWN!

My Shadow, I Follow It All The Way Home

Spencer and I met Steph at the Ballpark Market!

We made sure to get there extra early so we could scope out all the early bird goodies.

There was the best Indian jewelry we had ever seen.
I'm hoping that a sort of crazy lady inlaid crab ring is still there the next time I go...

Sometimes it's nice to get an early start.

Hello, is it me you're looking for?
Picture rediskulous.

I love LoDo when there aren't any knuckleheaded meat necks and overperfumed high heel wearers killing my production.

There was a Hardy Boys lunch box back there.

For some reason, my mom told me the story about the girl from Goldfinger that died from being covered in gold paint and it always stuck with me...

Hot rod magazines always get Steph's attention.

I love vintage linens and handmade doilies, hot pads, and tea towels.
This guy let me mix and match!

Hoo boy! That necklace with the lady sign sort of scared the living shit out of me.

I'm the proud owner of that blue WYO tray...

The lady working this booth was a little shady...she would give you a lower price and then when you saw the price on the item you had in your hands was more...she would back track.

For instance, this AWESOME paint by number kitten picture said $1.99, but she charged me three.
Whatev though, seriously...this thing is magic.

Quiet...

Next time you should come along with us to the Ballpark Market...
It's lots of fun and you might just find a treasure!
