I'll Open the Door for You

Denver opened some doors to us.

The old gothic West High School - where locker decoration is not a lost art form.
I'm trying to remember this.
A discussion about Gonorrhea. The kids know it's serious!

They even let us into the Governor's Mansion.

The inside was so ostentatious. But outside it felt like we were a verse of 'Cemetary Gates'. I even sang the chorus out loud to Micaela. I'm pretty sure she was embarrassed.

The Zang Mansion had the vibes. Mrs. Zang was giving us the eye.

The staircase was filled with dark, ghosty sensations.

The Zang Mansion even had a hinge on it's door made by some old time company called TACO.

Finally, the Kirkland Museum - filled to the rafters with the neatest stuff. This painting was called 'Hatred'. I felt it.

Vance Kirkland, if you haven't heard of the guy, was a 5'2 surrealist painter who was fired from Denver University for raising a stink over the University not giving full academic degree credit for art courses.

Kirkland claimed he could hear color - SYNESTHESIA! And he hung himself from straps attached to the rafters to paint the middle of his large canvases.

The Kirkland Museum also has tons of chairs exhibited that you aren't allowed to sit in.

Welcome to the neighborhood! UNJADED SUMMER 2008!!
