I C WATER

I just watched this last night.
It made me think a lot of things, for instance:

Genesis P. Orridge has boobs now. Who would have known that almost 20 years after the concerts shown on this DVD took place...that GPO would be, effectively, both girl and boy.

Caresse P. Orridge, daughter of Paula and GPO, seemed a big part of Psychic TV. Her most famous foray into music, as far as I can tell, was Psychic TV's cover of "Are You Experienced" (which is on the DVD) - it's awesome and psychedelic and her tiny English accent makes the song soft against the severe sounds backing her up.Still, in many of the scenes of the concerts, little Caresse is dancing on the stage like a teen raver - it's kind of amazing and alarming at the same time.
GPO's tolerance for people on the stage. I know there's this kind of hippy vibe that comes with being at these old school Psychic TV shows - there was a good chance, back then, that everyone was juiced to the gills on hallucinogenics! Still, I would never have had the patience for a bunch of naked guys, their wieners flapping away, dancing like they've been struck by lightening. It's amazing how drugs always make you feel like you're a better dancer - but video tape it and re-watch it sober, and you'll lament, my friend.
And finally, how co-opted the whole scene was. Psychic TV, an offshoot of the groundbreaking Throbbing Gristle, combined musicians playing instruments with electronic music. The sound is weird, haunting, and annoying sometimes, but still compelling.I see the traits of this co-mingling of musical expressions in so much these days.

RENT THIS ON NETFLIX, YOU WEIRDOS!
It's bound to prompt a visual epileptic freak out and maybe it will make you feel young...or old...depending on how much you actually like Psychic TV.
ALSO, there's a sweet video for I C WATER that's dedicated to Ian Curtis.
CHECK IT.
