We're In A Dream In The Happy House

See this gorgeous piano? This piano has needed a new home for so long...and now it's got one!
My dear friends, Meg and Chris, purchased a new home - and Meg, a piano teacher, needed a space like this!
I'm so excited for them!

I see myself drinking a glass of wine right there in front of that fireplace some day with them!

Meg graciously set up a little bar and prepared her house for a house warming/birthday extravaganza!

That's Darling Meg right there...in her new kitchen!

I recently made a cheese plate like this for a gentleman friend of mine and it went over pretty well...so, I figured I'd make it again and see what happened!

Chris, the birthday boy - and a HOME OWNER!

Birthday hats!

The awesome spread!

It was a really cool crew of peeps...
Lots of new people that I'd never met before that I was excited to get to know!

Douglet made his famous guacamole...
I dream about Doug's guac - it's the best I've ever eaten.
Don't bother asking him what the recipe is...

he keeps it in his noggin'!

Chris can be found, these days, in his man cave! Looks pretty sweet right?!

And this painting...I found it while thrifting with Meg in Wyoming...
She bought it for Chris and it's just magnificent!

Self portrait in Meg's insane closet - the full length mirror is amazing!

Chris and I share a love for any old school Wax Trax music...my love for My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is not something I can share with just everyone.

Chris also showed me some of his old school t-shirt collection!
OBVS, I LOVED IT!

Yes, thank you...I'll have that in a ladies medium!

Sigh...

I love this one - Chris is a crazy Morrissey fan - And clearly, I couldn't enjoy that more about him!

Some of my fave babies were there - Stephanie Bastard and Baby S!
Smiles all around!

Meg sort of had a birthday cake disaster.

But she slapped some jam on the cake...and frosted it...

Well, first...she realized that her frosting had been compromised.

Someone had eaten a good portion of the frosting...and left the remaining frosting in the jar in the fridge.

Who would ever do such a thing, Chris? WHO?

Thankfully, Meg was able to rally!

The cake was gorgeous!

We were wearing kitten hats...

Out in the garage, the smoking crew was hanging heavy!

Favorite faces, right here - the very best!

But we had to get inside because there was cake to eat!

Kelly...TRYING to ninja.

The other Kelly and Mark & Mike.
These gentlemen live next door to Meg and Chris...and Mark and I have a date in the near future to make bacon chocolate chip cookies together!

Steph loved my cheese plate.

Her rock hand seal of approval!

I guess since Meg made the cake that we needed to sing, but I have to say...we all sounded terrible.

'Happy Birthday' is a hard song to sing!

Our poor rendition didn't discourage Chris from doing the robot...

Meg sliced the cake pile...and everyone enjoyed a piece!

I told Chris to let me get a picture of it "going into his mouth".

He enjoyed that very much.
Perv.

Spencer is clearly enjoying it too!

It was a good group!
There was a lot of laughter!

TJ showed up and cracked me up!

And Mama K wore her Kid Rock earrings!
Sheesh.

Douglet and Chris couldn't help but try them on...

I think they look pretty good.
Seriously.

Doug was reluctant to give it back.

I'm happy for my friends! They fought a hard battle to get into this new house...and I remember them both being so nervous, months ago, about whether or not they would be able to pull it off!
They did...and I'm proud of them for taking care of each other and making this endeavor possible!

The first birthday of many, my friends, in your new home!
Thanks for having me!

Every house needs a painting of a friggin' barbarian, naked but for a loincloth!
